Following the success of the inaugural Broughton Open-Air Festival, many people are already eagerly waiting to book for the next event. Although there is no Festival this year, we’re pleased to announce that plans are already well advanced for an even bigger event during Summer 2008. The main attraction at the 2006 event - a promenade performance of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream set in the beautiful grounds of Broughton Hall - attracted the plaudits of critics and audiences far and wide.
The 2008 Festival will be wider in scope. Special events are being planned for children and young people - including musical drama and educational workshops - and a number of concerts will be programmed, all set in the grounds of the Hall once again.
As in 2006, Broughton Open-Air Festival 2008 will be centred around a major promenade performance of a Shakespearean play using Broughton Hall and its grounds as both backdrop and setting for a fresh take on a classic drama.
Partnership Entertainment Events Limited (PEEL) will once more provide the creative driving-force behind the Festival, bringing the company’s wide experience of the world of theatre and entertainment to the project. Festival-goers can confidently expect the same passion for quality, innovation and sheer spectacle and enjoyment that characterised our production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream in 2006
Broughton Open-Air Festival 2008 will begin booking in early 2008. Watch this site for more details.
